Noosophical Roleplaying Game

A conversational roleplaying game for creating a universe, embodying a character, exploring a persistent world and continuing a campaign across sessions.

How does it work?

You play your character; the agent brings the rest of the world to life.

You describe what your character says or tries to do. The agent describes places, plays non-player characters, advances events, applies the rules and presents the consequences of your choices.

You can start an adventure quickly, take time to build an original universe or resume an already saved campaign.

Getting started

Three ways to enter the game.

Start quickly

Give a few indications: genre, atmosphere, character type or starting idea. The agent can help complete what is missing with you.

Build a universe

Gradually create geography, peoples, politics, magic, history, factions, places and world rules. You choose what you want to define yourself.

Resume a game

Load an existing save, campaign, world or character sheet to continue a story without starting over.

Choose the pace

Novel, RPG or Fast: the same game, told differently.

These three modes change neither the world, nor the rules, nor difficulty, rewards or consequences. They mainly change narrative density and how visible mechanics and progression are.

NOVEL

For experiencing scenes in detail.

Developed narration, fuller dialogue, atmosphere and transitions played out more fully. Progression stays relatively discreet and integrates into the story.

Command: “novel mode”

RPG

The default compromise.

A few useful paragraphs, readable choices and visible mechanics when they matter. Important progression steps appear without taking over the whole experience.

Command: “RPG mode”

FAST

For moving quickly toward what matters.

Travel, transitions and moments without decisions are compressed more strongly. The game moves faster toward a choice, roll, consequence or progression, with more visible feedback on rewards and thresholds.

Command: “fast mode”

You can change pace during play. A one-off request such as “summarise the journey” or “develop this moment” does not necessarily change the general mode.

During a game

Simply describe what you do.

You can speak freely: “I enter the inn”, “I ask the guard what they saw”, “I try to climb the wall”, “I want to examine the symbol”, and so on.

The game can follow a main plot, but you remain free to explore, talk, investigate, travel, trade, build relationships, leave a lead aside or pursue your own goals.

Rolls and uncertainty

Dice intervene when the outcome is not obvious.

The resolution system uses 1d6 + characteristic + skill against a difficulty as its base. A roll determines whether an uncertain action succeeds and what consequences it produces.

Not everything requires a roll: an obvious action can simply succeed, while a risky or contested situation can require resolution.

Builder Mode

Build a universe to your measure, alone or with the agent.

The Builder is not only a step before playing. You can spend as much time as you want building a world, even without immediately starting a campaign.

You choose your degree of control. For each part of the universe, you can decide yourself, ask the agent for several proposals, build together, delegate a domain widely or deliberately leave some elements open.

You decide

You impose your ideas: for example the cosmology, a city, a religion, a faction or a rule of magic. The agent helps develop and organise them without replacing your choices.

You build together

You start from an idea, then the agent proposes variants, consequences or details. You keep, modify or reject what interests you.

You delegate

You can say “propose three peoples”, “invent a desert region” or even “surprise me”. This delegation concerns the requested construction, not your character’s future choices.

What can be built?

Almost every dimension of a universe: cosmology, geography, climate, peoples, languages, cultures, religions, magic, technology, politics, law, economy, history, institutions, factions, cities, roads, calendar, bestiary, arts, sciences, everyday life or adventure possibilities.

There is no mandatory questionnaire to complete. You can start from a single idea — “a city built around a colossal tree”, “a world without a sun”, “a republic of mages” — and develop only what becomes useful.

A proposal is not automatically official.

When the agent proposes something, you can validate it, modify it, keep it as a variant or leave it as an open question. This makes it possible to explore ideas without immediately turning them into definitive facts of your universe.

The Builder can also flag a possible inconsistency — chronology, geography, technology, economy, magic or scale — but it can ask how you want to resolve it instead of silently rewriting your world.

When you want to play again, simply say “resume the game”. Ideas built in Builder Mode do not automatically become a quest or plot: they first enrich the world.

Saving and continuity

A campaign can be resumed later.

The system distinguishes the world, campaign, character and save. This makes it possible to keep the same universe, play several campaigns or characters and resume a game in a new conversation.

“save”Prepare a portable state of the game.
“export the world”Export the structured description of the world.
“switch to builder”Temporarily leave the game to build the universe.
“resume the game”Return to play after a construction phase.

Worlds and variants

The same universe can have several histories.

It is possible to create different branches of the same world or campaign. This lets you try another evolution without automatically erasing the previous version.

Status

A laboratory still under development.

The Noosophical Roleplaying Game is experimental. Some mechanics, especially detailed resolution rules, may still evolve through testing.
